Mons and Pilsen. European Capitals of Culture 2015
Belgium and the Czech Republic offer in 2015 culture for all kind of tastes. The two cities were chosen by the Europarliament as European Capital of Culture in 2015. The celebration begins in January and will last the whole year. Mons in Belgium and Pilsen in the Czech Republic are now ready to show the continent several shows and numerous events.
Pilsen presents with its inauguration ceremony on January 17 an exhibition of the so-called "New Circus" and his famous acrobat David Dimitri, who begins with a family show in a tent in the Plaza de la República the new season of the circus. Throughout the year the city will offer more than 50 shows and over 600 activities.
Mons, meanwhile, offers many interesting exhibitions and other artistic activities where the visitor can even join the show. The opening party starts on January 24, 2015 with vivid illuminations. More than 18,000 silver ponchos are already prepared and will be distributed free to all those who want to be transformed into a mirror ball showing its light through the streets.
From this day the town becomes a city of arts full of music, festivals, exhibitions, dining and theater, among others.
